About

Lindi is a heart opener, nervous system regulator, and mind-body connector. She has a natural gift of making people feel seen, safe, accepted, and empowered to be their full authentic selves. She loves to create opportunities for healing through playful peace weaving and mindfulness-based practices. 

 

She is the founder of Embodied Explorations, a lightly facilitated free form movement exploration. It is a culmination of different somatic practices including yoga, partner yoga, contact improvisation, mindful/intuitive movement, energy healing, dance, platonic touch, and massage.  Each session is curated based off the energy of the group or individual, so no session is the same. 

 

Lindi has completed over 800 hours of yoga & mindfulness-based trainings. Additionally, she has been practicing yoga and meditation for 18 years. She is certified to teach various methods through the Yoga Alliance. These include Mindfulness Based Yoga, The Nervous System Rewire method, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra.

She completed her certifications with The Mindfulness Center and HELD: School of Embodied Self Integration. She also holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she gained extensive Dance Improvisation training. During her time there, she founded a 600-member club called The Good Vibe Tribe, dedicated to decreasing student stress levels and promoting positive change.

Her approach is unique and can be customized to any season of life. She is particularly skilled at community building and assisting individuals in the midst of transformation or burnout. Lindi sees our bodies as conduits of energy that are an intricate part of the greater ecosystem of life and infinite possibilities.

When we are stressed, depressed, or lacking trust, everything begins to fall apart. Lindi can help you have it all fall together. You can expect to feel joyful and loved in the playfully sacred containers she creates.

Everything Lindi offers is an invitation. Students are always encouraged to listen to their own body's wisdom and do what feels right for them. Take what resonates and leave the rest.

Nervous System Rewire

Collectively, we are in the midst of rapid change and increased stress on earth. Many of our sensitive systems are feeling it and are getting stuck in stress responses. This can show up as overwhelm, anxiety, lethargy, depression, panic, hyper-vigilance, chronic tension, unmanageable sensitivities, and more. Sometimes, having a "positive mindset" simply isn't enough. 

Nervous System Rewire is a set of accessible and easy to learn tools that can increase your resilience to stress and help you thrive in these trying times.

This isn’t about stopping the survival responses that keep us alive (fight/flight/freeze). It's about increasing our ability to metabolize stress and gently return to homeostasis. 

 

These classes can be taken as a series or as a stand-alone workshop. Each class will start with a grounding practice and an overview of the nervous system. We will cover various topics related to increasing resilience to stress. These include understanding the survival responses, the impact of chronic stress and trauma (and what to do about it), how to increase window of tolerance, polyvagal theory, interoception, the gut-brain connection, vagal toning, breath practices, heart rate variability, self-compassion, interoceptive movement, embodiment, and more.

*Note on the NSR series: It is not required to come to all the classes in a series. Each class starts with an overview of the "need to know" information. It is most impactful to come to all classes in the series. However, you will still benefit and learn many tools even if you can't attend the whole series.

 

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra, or as Lindi likes to call it sleepy yoga, is an extremely potent and powerful practice of "non-doing". It is a form of meditation where Lindi will gently guide you into a state of deep rest, relaxation, and healing. Yoga Nidra is the doorway to the liminal space between sleep and wakefulness, where dreams become reality. 

 

Despite the name, "sleepy yoga", the intention is to stay awake, though there are some Nidra's that are specifically designed for sleep. Your body will always take care of its biological needs first, if you fall asleep, that is perfectly okay. It is normal to cycle through various states of consciousness and/or come in and out of the Nidra.

 

Most people receive Yoga Nidra lying down in a comfortable container we call the Nidra Nest. This can be made with whatever you have available, but ideally you will have a yoga mat or something comfortable other than your bed to lay on, bolsters, pillows, a blanket or sarong, and an eye pillow. 

As with all my offerings, everything is an invitation, and you are always encouraged to listen to your body. If you want to take a different position, that is welcome. If you want to open your eyes at any point, that is also welcome. The invitation is to move slowly and with gentle, loving care. 

Yoga Nidra's can be customized to what feels right for you and/or the group. They typically range from 15-90 minutes in length and often begin by setting a sankalpa (intention) that comes from our heartfelt desires. We can plant this seed into our subconscious, then lay back and watch it grow.

Lindi led the class through a movement practice while sharing heart-touching gratitude mantras. After the movement practice, Lindi invited everyone to write a letter to themself about what they are grateful for about themselves. I keep that letter tucked in my tarot deck and read it often with love and gratitude for myself and my journey. I attended Lindi’s movement medicine class where she led us through a flow to bring us back into our bodies. The whole experience left me feeling grounded and embodied. What I loved most about her facilitation was that she stayed really present with the energy in the space and adapted her cues to match what felt best for the class in the moment. Nothing felt rushed or overly structured. I also loved when she guided us to lay our hands on our own bodies and tune into what areas we felt needed our love and attention. There are many types of yoga styles and offerings out there, both online and in your local community, but if you haven't yet had the pleasure of attending one of Lindi's flows, I highly encourage you to do so. I have found Lindi's yoga sessions to be more than your average practice.
